In the 6 months since I moved back to Seattle, I have yet to experience the joys of eating from a roach coach. This is not to say that they're not around, but just not on every corner from where I was living in Los Angeles. Across the street from my apartment in Koreatown was the $1 taco truck blasting mariachi music (ironic, I know), there was the torta stand a few blocks down with THE best tortas I've ever had. Not to mention the Koji Korean BBQ truck that was known to have a 45 minute wait just to try their bulgogi tacos and kim chi quesadillas. The only way to find those guys was via their website, or better yet via their Twitter page.
I'm stoked for this weekend as I was alerted by Thrillist about Seattle's Mobile Chowdown Mobile Chowdown. This weekend in the Interbay area, I'll be there to try some of best cart food in Seattle, including: Hawaiian/Korean tacos and sliders from Marination Mobile, tortas from El Camion, and other Seattle favorites Top Pot Doughnuts and Jones Soda.
Info: Sat Jan 9, 11am-3pm; 1616 W Bertona.
Don't worry. They're supplying the Port-a-potties.
