Food Trucks: Coming Soon!

This is great news for us living in/near the Seattle area. The Seattle City Council passed a bill which will allow more (and more, and more) food trucks to sell in public places. This has previously been one of the challenges these meals on wheels have encountered, prohibiting such goodness from entering my belly.

Once this occurs here in the great northwest, I will have just one reason to visit Southern California: Sun. And now, for today's weather.

Rooster Sauce

I love sauce. Ketchup, BBQ, HoiSin, Plum, black bean chili, and of course, Rooster sauce. And if you haven't had it, no, it does not taste like chicken.

After seeing this on Cool Material, I had to share it as my office is now without it because the last person who used it didn't replace it. Hint. Hint. :p

Anyways, this book has 50 recipes based on the Rooster. Check it out and share your comments on how they turned out.

Costco Korea

Today, we had an awesome day. It started off with a business visit with Costco Korea. This store is two stories tall, and ranks/ed as the top grossing store in the company. One cool feature: a people mover to take you and your cart down to the FOOD FLOOR! While traveling down to the lower floor, the first thing you smell is the Bakery. It smelled like home. The also have a wicked live seafood department too!

Top selling food item: Marinated Bulgogi

Wishlist item that the US needs to adopt: Bulgogi Pizza and Bulgogi Bake (similar to chicken bake)

Pics below!

Seoul Eats

It's been a long time since Dimsummit has been active, but as I'm on a 2 week adventure to Seoul, I thought it no better time to refresh Dimsummit with some new, delicious treats.

I just got in on Saturday night and have already eaten my fare share of local eats.

Here's a video of live octopus. Amazing!

Chowdown Around Seattle

Twice a year, Seattle is host to Dine Around Seattle , the favorite amongst penny pinching foodies, where you too can enjoy fine foods at 30 popular restaurants for $15 (lunch) and $30 (dinner).

Beginning today (and lasting through March 31), participating restaurants offer delicious 3 course meals ranging in American to Vietnamese cuisine.

You will likely fine me at Monsoon Seattle and Etta's Seafood .

It's That Time of Year Again

Girl Scout Cookies are back in stock. For a highway robbery price of $4, you get maybe 20 cookies of your favorite (thin mint, thin mint, thin mint) flavor.

Don't miss the chance to support the future of America next time you stock up on beer, chips, and probably Hungry Man dinners.
